| GameSpot ReviewTimeShock! is the second game in Empire Interactive’s Pro-Pinball series. Like it is predecessor, the Web, TimeShock! is a pinball simulator. Empire Interactive devised TimeShock! much like a real pinball apparatus. All the operator settings are here and may be changed. You may involve through light, sound, and bumper tests just like it was a real apparatus. The disturb is, if we genuinely wanted a pinball game this exact to the real business, wouldn’t we just go out to an arcade and play the real business? The TimeShock! table is a excellent one. It has things like magnetic ball saving, lots of dissimilar modes, multiball, and everything else you’d suppose from a modern pinball apparatus. With the controller you may nudge the table, activate the ball saver, and, of course, control the flippers. It responds just as you would suppose it to respond and puts on a finelooking excellent act. But it is an act. A PlayStation controller plainly can’t exchange an actual apparatus. At times, you’ll nearly feel like you’re playing a real pinball apparatus… apart from most real machines don’t have loading times. The game’s graphics are decent, even though everything has a very fuzzy look to it. The dot-matrix back-glass show looks somewhat cool, as well. The game’s sound (flipper noises, the sound of a ball heading up a ramp) is fabulously close to the real business. The game’s music, but, is just plain terrible. If this game had more than one table, it would come all over a whole lot better. Also, if it did some things that a real pinball apparatus couldn’t do, it would make sense. As it is, you just can’t warrant this as life a suitable buy. Yes, the TimeShock! table is excellent, but Empire will have to really just get started making real pinball machines rather of wasting it is design natural abilities and qualities on simulations. If you’re a monster pinball fan, then you’ll get a lot of play out of TimeShock!, but wrapping your hands around a PlayStation controller merely can’t stand up to wrapping them around the real business. –Jeff Gerstmann –Copyright ©1999 GameSpot Inc.
